Why I think they're a No, No...
We've all seen it.. the "unsolicited drive by reading", maybe on a TV show where a certain famous medium reads for people walking through the supermarket. We may also see it in a setting where it comes out of the blue and it's like who has the biggest psychic balls type of scenario. I said it, it's happened to me before.
I always see a reading as sacred. A time and an opportunity for me to see the client for who they truly are. They've come to me with trust and vulnerability and I honor the space and time we've set aside for a reading to be the place where we can go deep.
You never know where someone is at in their healing process.
When it comes to communication with the spirit world, you never know what stage someone is in within their grief or how they are feeling at that moment. It is best for someone to book an appointment so that they've set aside the dedicated time and can be in a private space to receive a reading.
I have seen some psychics give unsolicited readings. It's always best to ask for permission to share intuitive messages with someone. Sometimes someone might not be ready for the messages that are being presented to them, and maybe that psychic isn't the right conduit to bring it to that person. If the psychic believes that they are the one to give you that message, that feels like ego to me. I believe that as an intuitive, we are not everyones reader. It's important for the client or the person receiving the reading to decide for themselves who they'd like to work with.
Spirit knows when I’m at work and when I’m not.
In order to do the work that I do I need to shift my awareness. Being a highly sensitive person as it is, I can naturally feel people and get a sense for who they are without having to go to my psychic senses. There is absolutely no need to tune into people at the supermarket or anywhere out and about, that would be too much energy to take on.
I consider my appointments my time to be of service and go to work. Anyone who says it's impossible to have boundaries around their psychic abilities likely doesn't want to have boundaries. You are always in control of your energy and what you receive. I do find that when someones psychic abilities are first turning on, that energy may be around them more frequently to get their attention. It can feel as though they can't help but receive messages. Yet again, you're always in control and can absolutely have boundaries around what you allow in.
As a psychic/medium we do not do every kind of reading- yes there are different kinds of psychics.
Just like anything, people specialize in certain areas of work. As an example you might be interested in finding a psychic who can find something you're missing or talk to your pet. It's best to find someone who specializes in that area of work, which means they have a passion and understanding for it. There are animal communicators and psychics that work with missing persons. The psychic you work with may have an ability to do that but it may not be their focus.
"Prove it!" energy is not necessary.
I have no personal need or desire to prove my abilities to someone. Nor do I have a need to change someones mind about the work that I do. Therefore there is no need to walk around proving myself doing on the spot readings.
